When God calls a watchman, He gives them a sacred responsibility. The watchman’s job is to see the danger coming and to sound the alarm before it is too late. In Ezekiel chapter 33, God speaks with clarity. If the watchman sees the sword coming and fails to blow the trumpet, the blood of the people is on his hands. This is not just a warning for ancient Israel. It is a warning for us today.

Right now, the threats are clear to anyone with spiritual eyes to see. Moral decay is not slowly creeping into society. It is running at full speed. The murder of the unborn is defended as a fundamental right. Sexual perversion is being repackaged for children in the name of diversity and inclusion. God’s holy design for marriage and family is being rewritten by rebellious hands that reject His authority.

Inside the Church, spiritual compromise is spreading like a disease. The clear call to repentance has been replaced with self-help slogans. The message of the cross is being traded for motivational speeches that never confront sin. Whole denominations are bowing to the culture rather than standing firm on the Word of God. They choose applause over truth and comfort over obedience.

Persecution is no longer a distant possibility. It is already here. Standing on biblical convictions today can cost you your job, your freedom, or even your life. Speaking the truth of Scripture in public can bring ridicule, censorship, and hostility. The walls are being tested, and the enemy is at the gate.

Yet so many pulpits remain silent. Why is this happening. For some, it is fear. Fear of losing members. Fear of losing financial support. Fear of being labeled as hateful or divisive. For others, it is comfort. They have grown used to safety and ease. And for many, it is the craving for the approval of man rather than the approval of God.

This silence is deadly. God is not looking for those who will stand back and watch. He is looking for believers who will stand their post on the wall, who will keep their eyes open, who will sound the alarm when danger is near. He is calling His people to see with spiritual eyes, to speak with courage, and to warn with love.

In my latest sermon, Watchmen on the Wall: What the Church Should Be Warning About Right Now, I unpack this urgent calling in detail. We look at the specific threats the Church must confront today. We explore why silence is so dangerous. And I show how you can take your place as a watchman in your own home, in your church, and in your community.

The time is short. The need is urgent. Stand your post. Sound the alarm. The sword is coming, and the watchman’s voice must be heard.
